about us
Since 1999, Clinica Camellia has been committed to providing family medicine and obstetric care while serving women, children, workers, and families in our community.
About Us
Clinica Camellia
The Camellia Foundation is a nonprofit, physician-led community health organization in Memphis, Tennessee, that serves families regardless of insurance, language, or circumstance through Clínica Camellia, delivering integrated primary care, obstetrics, behavioral health, and addiction treatment under one roof in some of the region’s most medically underserved neighborhoods.
Camellia’s mission is twofold: to provide excellent, compassionate care to the patients who need it most, and to build the health care workforce that will carry that care forward.
The organization is a teaching environment at every level, from its nationally recognized primary care obstetrics fellowship for physicians to training and mentorship for medical and nursing students, residents, medical assistants, community health workers, and front-office staff, offering anyone drawn to a career in health care a place to learn by serving, alongside clinicians who treat the underserved not as a specialty but as a calling.

Our FM-OB Fellowship
Family Medicine + Obstetrics Fellowship
Family Medicine & Obstetrics Fellowship at Camellia Foundation. This two-year fellowship trains family physicians in advanced obstetrics, including cesarean sections and high-risk pregnancy management, to enable full-scope practice locally and globally. Based in North Memphis, Medicos Medical Center includes Clinica Camellia (state-insured patients) and Clinica Medicos (uninsured, mostly Spanish-speaking). Founded in 1999, it provides comprehensive, affordable care rooted in Biblical and Hippocratic values.
Fellows receive hands-on training in surgical obstetrics, office procedures (e.g., colonoscopy, IUD insertions, wound care), and running a private practice. The program emphasizes both hospital and outpatient care, with fellows also serving as junior faculty. Graduates are prepared for board certification in Family Medicine Obstetrics and supported in finding post-fellowship opportunities.
